FAIR Resources

These links are either to Web pages hosted on the FAIR Website, or to FAIR Papers. FAIR Papers are short articles about specific topics or questions, written by members of FAIR. Aaron Christensen, "Celsus and Modern Anti-Mormonism," (Mesa, Arizona: FAIR, 14 November 2002) This enlightening FAIR Paper discloses that the tactics of modern anti-Mormons are not new. Indeed, they were used by anti-Christians shortly after the Apostolic period.

McKay V. Jones, "Evasive Ignorance: Anti-Mormon Claims that B.H. Roberts Lost His Testimony," (Mesa, Arizona: FAIR, November 2004) An expanded version of Jones' article dealing with the anti-Mormon accusation that B.H. Roberts lost his testimony in the Book of Mormon.

Benjamin McGuire, "Did Lehi Use Egyptian?," (Mesa, Arizona: FAIR, 22 October 2002) A minor criticism of the Book of Mormon is that no believing Jew, circa 600 B.C., would have used Egyptian to write anything--let alone a spiritual record! This FAIR Paper presents the facts--biblical and secular--concerning Egyptian use in the seventh century B.C.

Craig Ray, "Joseph Smith's History Confirmed," (Mesa, Arizona: FAIR, August 2002) This FAIR Paper discusses evidence that supports various of Joseph Smith's claims concerning the First Vision.

Kim Siever, "Is Mormonism a Cult?," (Mesa, Arizona: FAIR, 26 October 2001) Have you heard Mormons accused of belonging to a cult? Read this FAIR Paper to find out if such characterizations are accurate.

Lance Starr, "Was Joseph Smith a Martyr or a Murderer?," (Mesa, Arizona: FAIR, May 2003) This FAIR Paper examines an old anti-Mormon chestnut that Joseph Smith does not fit the definition of "martyr" because he did not die submissively.

John A. Tvedtnes, "Hebrew Names in the Book of Mormon," (Mesa, Arizona: FAIR, 14 January 2002) Discussion of the Hebrew root of some names used in the Book of Mormon. This paper was presented in Jerusalem, August 2001, at the Thirteenth World Congress of Jewish Studies.

Allen L.
